Bedroom Talk: A Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, and Physical Journey from Marital Intimacy Conversation to Sex & More
“Bedroom Talk” released by author Jonathan Thompson
Guide to marital intimacy “badly needed” fun to read • It’s time for some bedroom talk.
Such is the belief of Jonathan Thompson, a performing arts virtuoso, teaching artist, actor,
singer, musician, songwriter, poet and now, author.
Thompson is releasing his first book, Bedroom Talk: A Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, and Physical
Journey from Conversation to Sex, Intimacy, Lovemaking, and a Total Commitment, aimed at improving
not just the sex lives of his readers, but their entire spiritual expression.
“Over the years, couples have been drawn to me in times of marital trouble,” Thompson
says. “I realized that they needed help BEFORE they encountered their difficulties. I
decided to write a book to nip these problems in the bud.”
Thompson is determined that his readers get the most out of their lives, and observes that many marriages
he sees are under-performing, because spouses don’t prioritize each other and don’t truly
understand what a commitment entails. re
As he says in his book:
“Am I talking about sex? It’s only a small part of what I am saying. We need to learn to care enough to
reach into the inner core of our mate. We need to care about the whole person, not simply stopping to give
only our partial, distracted attention to each other; but our whole being and fiber. A part of love’s genius
is patience: Patience for the process, the journey, and the whole experience. This “microwave??? society” that
fills our consciousness and spirit with “hurry-up” will, if we allow it, causes us to mess up, screw up and
miss out.”
Bedroom Talk is an unusual hybrid: a mash-up guide to marital intimacy instructions and erotic fiction.
Thompson has managed to weave stories of hypothetical yet recognizable individuals throughout his
highly-readable guidance. For example:
She followed his voice, hearing the sound of bath water running. Walking into the bathroom, she saw Mack pouring her
favorite oils into the large tub filling up with hot steam from the warm water. “Got it ready for ya baby”, he said.
Mattie smiled and kissed him on his thick wide lips. Turning around with her back towards him, arms stretched high,
Mack proceeded to unzip her dress...
Passages like this are followed by Thompson’s careful yet never preachy counsel as couples everywhere will be
able to recognize the lessons that can be learned from the sometimes-steamy stories he tells.
